To create added impact and sustainability to our programmes we have partnered with one of the leading property management companies, Capital Land to create ongoing interaction within our communities.
Capital Land invests substantially into CSI and through their Sport for Youth initiatives our Community Programmes have evolved.
Our Community Programmes create much needed employment for skilled coaches from within these communities and creates the platform for hundreds of children to play sport in a structured and well organised environment whilst keeping them away from social evils.
Each community programme includes the following:
- Employment of a coaching co-ordinator from within the community.
- Weekly sport sessions conducted by the coaching co-ordinator at a centralised venue or selected school/s within the community.
- Holiday coaching clinics – hosted during each school holiday involving over 150 children and contractually employing coaches from within the community. Each holiday coaching clinic includes a life skills component and concludes with a mini tournament held at the host shopping centre in the community.
Sporting Chance provides training for the co-ordinator and coaches as well as logistical and structural support, however the programme is driven by the community themselves creating much needed empowerment and opportunity.
Our Community programme currently operates in partnership with the Capital Land properties as follows: Bridge City Mall in Kwa Mashu, KZN; Kuyasa Centre in Mdanstane, Eastern Cape; Moutse Mall in Dennilton, Limpopo and Diepsloot Mall in Diepsloot, Gauteng.
We would like to expand this programme beyond its current reach to more communities and thank Capital Land for their continued support in changing lives through sport every day.
