After a nervy start to the day when overcast skies threatened a no-show at clinics, the sun battled through and the Sporting Chance spring Holiday clinics went ahead as planned. Always a tricky one with Mother Nature wanting to have it all her way, these young sport devotees are indifferent to the weather situation as they show up with the same vigour daily.
They carry this same enthusiasm with them throughout the sessions, even when given homework. Some, for example, have had to research “ways to get out in cricket.” This allows them to consolidate the effort they make on the field with thinking time, to understand from an early age that sport is as much about psychology as it is about the practical.
Some education on and off the pitch will stand them in good stead for the future!
