The first three days of our winter coaching clinics were met by challenging weather, however as we marched onto the field on Thursday and Friday, we were greeted by welcoming sunny skies and enthusiastic participants.
Friday as tradition was dubbed ‘Fun Friday’, a day where we wrap up the festivities, play loads of matches and award all the children who partook with some much deserved goodies.
Perseverance has definitely been the theme of the week, as the tiny tots, junior and senior participants arrived daily despite the elements and participated 100% in the coaching. ‘Fun Friday’ is always a fitting way to conclude the week as the players share stories and experiences from what they have learnt and what they take with them into the second half of their school seasons.
The various coaching sessions ended with team matches and the eagerly awaited prize giving’s. Thanks to our sponsors for the wonderful prizes which included: The ‘Hi-Tec Hero’ award of a R250 voucher at each clinic, numerous Sportsmans Warehouse vouchers, Kauai t-shirts, GM & Summit vouchers, Liqui-Fruit Vitality certificates and bags, and Let’s Play goodies.
We can proudly say that Sporting Chance, with the support of its sponsors has successfully reinforced its primary values and passed them on to all the participants this past week, and this was evident when one of the coaches asked a young Sporting Chancer what they had learnt and he remarked “Sport is fun!”
