It didn’t take long for the kids to settle down – about two minutes to be exact, the time it took for them to register, hit the field and meet their fellow Sporting Chancers…and the parents knew this by the screams that could be heard all round.
Not to be outdone by the young ones, the coaches themselves were bundles of energy as they took their charges through their paces, each coach handling his/her group of players with professionalism, giving out instructions, and getting involved with the demonstrations of the skills.
After the initial two days, there are plenty of stories to tell – from first time hockey players like a young lady who had given up netball for hockey (looking for something completely different since she already does basketball), to the tiny tots chasing after soccer balls to the boy who said he shouldn’t do any rucking because he was a fullback, and more. Overall, a fantastic start to the Easter clinics.
