DHL Western Province and 567 Cape Talk once again delivered on and off the field, hosting 25 kids in Province’s crunch Currie Cup victory against the Free State Cheetahs at Newlands on Saturday. It was a special occasion for the young players from Nyanga’s Lagunya Rugby Club as many of them had never made it out of the borders of their community. This was evident as they were excited, playing on the lawns at Club Newlands and breaking out in song as they made their way to the stands.
It was an entertaining day for them, made even better by post-match festivities when they joined other kids who were at the stadium in getting autographs from some of their WP rugby heroes…on the hallowed Newlands greens! To end off – the drive home on the official DHL WP team rugby bus. This was a special stadium experience indeed!
