Main beach Strand and beautiful weather provided the perfect start to the 21st annual Sporting Chance Calypso Cricket festivals. This popular public beach was overtaken by bus loads of keen young cricketers from the communities of Khayelitsha, Nomzamo and Lwandle. Breakfast started the day and then the children headed out down the 2km stretch of pitches. Spotting talent and cricket fun in the sun kept everyone busy and at the end of an enjoyable and exhausting time the teams gathered for the final vibe session before heading home with a goodie bag, lunch and a refreshments from Coke.
