Foodzone shares a taste in Street Soccer

Sporting Chance is pleased to announce a partnership with supermarket chain – Foodzone, in the KIA STREET SOCCER project.

With the support of 2010 FIFA World CupTM partner KIA Motors as the title sponsor, the KIA Street Soccer project will make a difference to thousands of South African children’s lives as they begin to “live the dream of 2010”. Sporting Chance will facilitate the KIA Street Soccer league to over 3 000 underprivileged children from impoverished areas in the Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg and Pretoria regions starting in early April and Foodzone will play a pivotal role as an associate sponsor for both the KIA Street Soccer league and the subsequent FIFA Ticket Fund Program.

Brad Bing, Managing Director of Sporting Chance, was excited to have the supermarket chain onboard and sees enormous benefit in this partnership.

“We’ve been talking to Foodzone quite extensively over the last couple of months, and to have them onboard with a project of this nature will benefit and compliment the children in the KIA Street Soccer and FIFA Ticket Fund projects extensively,” commented Bing.

“Not only does this project teach soccer skills, but it will also focus and educate all children about personal hygiene, healthy eating habits, and Foodzone will be the perfect partner to showcase this practically.” said Bing.

Managing Director of Foodzone, Leon Volschenk was thrilled at the opportunity to invest in the country’s future stars.

“We at Foodzone are extremely excited about the opportunity to be involved with our community, especially where it involves our countries youth and are looking forward to play our part in making a difference in as many kid’s lives as possible though our participation in this project,” said Volschenk.
