The spirit of giving was on show on Friday when twelve players from the Masiphumelele KIA Street Soccer league received gifts from the Kidz2Kidz Trust.
The Kidz2Kidz Santa Shoebox initiative “coordinates the donation, collection and distribution of personalised gifts at Christmas time…across South Africa and Namibia.” After seeing the Western Cape KIA Street Soccer provincial final in August, Kidz2Kidz’s Santa Shoebox initiative decided to spread some Christmas cheer to the top two Masiphumelele teams.
The expressions of glee on the youngsters’ faces when they opened their shoeboxes cannot be bought. They were delighted to receive their trainers, and looked forward to showing them off to their families, not forgetting the anticipation of putting them on for their next soccer game!
With the Bradbury Family, Kidz-2-Kidz also donated the Spirit Cup – a floating trophy awarded to the Western Cape team showing the greatest sportsmanship during the KIA Street Soccer league.
Thanks to Kidz2Kidz and the Bradbury Family for helping to put smiles on our children’s faces.
