Marlborough College on tour from the UK took time out from their busy schedule to join the Sporting Chance Development Foundation and coach the cricket enthusiasts in Khayelitsha this past weekend. The tourists were amazed by the natural flair and talent displayed by the youngsters and they also appreciated their eagerness to learn.
The trip to Khayelitsha was a huge eye-opener for the touring party as it presented a new experience for them and gave them a chance to see the barriers that sport can transcend, an opportunity to see the power of sport and the difference that sport makes in our lives.
The gloomy weather on Saturday did not deter the enthusiasm and excitement of the youngsters, as the Marlborough coaching and playing staff took them through various fielding drills before spending time honing their batting and bowling skills in the nets.
A great morning was had by all involved. Thank you to Marlborough College for giving up their time and we wish them well for the rest of trip.
