The KIA Street Soccer players turn up in their numbers to have fun while their talent is on display for all to see. While the league matches continue on a weekly basis, what the project has done beyond just the matches played is as important.
In a country with a relatively high unemployment rate, Street Soccer has helped create employment for 840 coaches and coordinators. In addition, we worked with the same communities involved in Street Soccer to source out the equipment. In this regard we invested R85 000 into the Oasis: Reach for Your Dreams organisation as they manufactured some of our Street Soccer goalposts. Oasis seeks to create employment for the homeless in Grassy Park and the surrounding communities.
Thanks to our sponsors and partners Kia Motors, Foodzone, Supersport Let’s Play, Dawn Wing Global Express, Mille, Good Hope FM, ProNutro; our PSL partners Ajax Cape Town, Amazulu, Bloemfontein Celtic and Orlando Pirates; as well as the provincial Departments of Health for the continued support.
