A man’s work is never done! Fresh from playing a major part in the year-ending Sporting Chance Calyp
so Cricket Festival, Taquanta Investment Holdings have once again shown their commitment to the South African cause, reaching deep into their pockets to put their moneys where their mouths are.
Taquanta have put together a team of cyclists for the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour with each rider raising funds towards Calypso. Having already contributed to a successful Calypso last year, this initiative guarantees an epic week for the communities involved.
Calypso Cricket sees thousands of children spending the morning on some of Cape Town’s famous beaches. But more than just a day at the beach, it is used as an incentive at the end of the academic year and is part of Sporting Chance’s determination to encourage sport and physical activity as a fixture in all children’s lives, irrespective of race, gender or social class and to create an uplifting environment to bring together various communities.
Just like that, there’s another incentive to do The Argus – as if trudging through 110 kilometres of the Cape Town landscape isn’t good enough motivation. But, we don’t judge people for what inspires them. We simply appreciate what this weekend will mean for 3000 of Cape Town’s children.
Thanks to Taquanta Investment Holdings for continuing to support the Sporting Chance vision.
