Events/ Projects Co-ordinator (EE)

Sporting Chance, one of the leading sports coaching and development organisations in South Africa, is looking for an Events and Projects Co-ordinator to join their dynamic team.

The main purpose of the role is to execute project and event activities, ensuring all logistics are in place for the smooth running of events. Responsibilities will include:

  • Operational management of all logistics related to events
  • Co-ordinating and overseeing the work of contract employees and volunteers
  • Designing and implementing efforts to publicise events and promote sponsorships
  • Problem resolution and effective liaison with sponsors, clients and participants
  • Project/event administration, including maintaining accurate information with regard to events, monitoring budgets, producing relevant reports

T o be considered for this role, you will need excellent organisational skills, the ability to work independently and take initiative, the ability to remain calm under pressure, excellent written and verbal communications skills in English and at least one other South African language, strong people skills and high attention to detail.

A passion for the development of children within local communities, as well as a strong interest in and good general knowledge of sport are essential to the role. Previous experience working with local communities would be advantageous.

A relevant tertiary education (e.g. in events management, hospitality, project management) would be beneficial.
