We couldn’t keep this in for much longer! How could we, with that convincing win over the Brumbies? We were there to see it! This past weekend few things were as electric as the atmosphere at the DHL Newlands Rugby Stadium…and we were there!
But, more important was the presence of thirty children from Manenberg. Before this weekend, only one of them had been to Newlands. One! Talk about making a difference in the lives of our young ones! It got better as these Newlands newbies had the honour of joining the colourful procession as they made their way to the historic Danie Craven Stand where they joined thousands of the Stormers Faithful in blue and white, red and yellow, to see their team home.
Just as children from Langa, Nyanga and the surrounding communities saw the DHL Western Province off to a successful Currie Cup campaign last year, may Manenberg’s little ones be the tonic for a triumphant DHL Stormers season…and when you think about the naysayers who thought the Stormers wouldn’t pull it off against their more fancied opposition, maybe the kids have started working their magic!
