Taking a leaf out of Alexander O’Neal’s song “Sentimental” we took a walk down memory lane while visiting the picturesque offices of Good Hope fm. It might seem a bit of a cliché to describe their Sea Point home as “picturesque”, but overlooking the historic Robben Island, the views in these parts are a sight for sore eyes.
But, we digress. As we continue to prepare for the 7th Kellogg’s Health of the Nation 50-Hour Sport Challenge to be held at the Western Cape Sport School in Kuils River, we’ve spent some time with the folks at Good Hope fm. As the media sponsor since 2009 they have been good to us. This relationship is not limited to this project only, with the familiar faces at the station making an annual (and competitive) appearance at the Foodzone Intermedia Cricket Challenge, while also allowing us the opportunity to share the KIA Street Soccer story with Cape Town.
As you walk through their corridors you are struck by the collage detailing the station’s journey over the years. Looking at the images we realised that many of us have a Good Hope story to share. Listeners and the famous alike have, over the years, been captivated by the station. What is it their slogan says – connecting Cape Town? Fact…they do bring people together!
With just days to the start of the 7th Kellogg’s Health of the Nation, we look forward to connecting the country’s young ones with the health of the nation message of active and hearty living.
Thanks to Good Hope fm…Connecting Cape Town’s Health of the Nation!
