Sporting Chance is pleased to announce that Taquanta Investment Holdings is contributing to the Western Cape leg of the 22nd annual Calypso Cricket festival to take place this December. Taquanta’s investment will allow Sporting Chance to reward the 3000 boys and girls who have been part of an annual programme with the opportunity to participate in the year ending Calypso Cricket spectacle.
The Calypso Cricket programme is the pinnacle of the year for the young community children and hopefully paves their way to a brighter future as they acquire early life skills and sports acumen that extends beyond the week spent on the Cape’s beaches.
Calypso is about fun in the summer sun, but combined with the pivotal lessons learnt from the game of cricket and the mixture of communities and cultures, the festivals provide a whole lot more for all involved. They may not all end up as financial advisors, but we hope the week goes a long way to installing confidence and encouraging the children’s dreams, while incorporating Taquanta principles of accountability, team work and collaboration.
