With the mercury set to dip tomorrow and the possibility of rain, we take a moment to reflect on the past three days’ weather pattern at the Easter clinics.
The verdict is out! Beaumont Primary School (Somerset West) is the hottest venue we have. It was blisteringly hot on Monday and Tuesday, and today was no different. Will we have another scorcher on our hands tomorrow or will the heavens bring relief? But Constantia, Newlands and Bellville have not been spared the heat either. Here’s hoping for relief on Thursday!
Meanwhile on the pitch…after three days coaches and their charges are starting to slip into a familiar routine. We hear some of the coaches have different whistles for different drills they expect from the players. Three whistles mean “drop down and give me ten”; one long whistle is calling time on a session, that sort of thing. This morning one young man was overheard cheerfully greeting, “Morning coach,” he said as he went to take his place at the rugby.
Weather notwithstanding, these aspirant young ones are certainly learning in a fun environment.
