The dawn of a new day brought with it a surprise as we were joined by surfer Justin Bing at Constantia and Newlands for day 4 of the Easter clinics. The seventh-ranked ASP men’s longboard surfer visited all three Southern Suburbs clinics as he looks to get involved with Sporting Chance and the Sporting Chance Development Foundation. The twenty two year old will be joining the Kellogg’s Health of the Nation as one of its brand ambassadors.
Having moved back to South Africa after spending some time travelling and working overseas, Bing has started a surfing school giving lessons in longboard surfing as well as in stand up paddleboarding, another of his specialities. He was well-impressed with what he saw, while the kids were pleased to have him around.
Today’s weather was a lot cooler, a bit nippy in places, providing just the relief necessary for a cool morning of drills for the excited youngsters.
