WHERE FOOD IS A PASSION, AND WELCOMING US THEIR PLEASURE

The Western Cape was the last team standing, as they beat Kwazulu-Natal in the National KIA Street Soccer Final on Saturday afternoon.  On a day just cool enough for the players to work up a light sweat, the five teams from the Western Cape, Kwazulu-Natal, Free State, Gauteng and Eastern Cape gathered at Soweto’s Maponya Mall for the opportunity to be crowned the first ever KIA Street Soccer National Champions.

Carrying the form that saw them take provincial honours, all five teams upped their game and absorbed the pressure of a first-ever national final well.  The ‘ultimate final’ itself, contested between Western Cape and Kwazulu-Natal, was a tight affair and it was one moment that saw Western Cape go one up over Kwazulu-Natal to win 2 – 1.

However, the weekend wasn’t only about Saturday’s final.  There was ample entertainment for the three days the respective provincial winners converged on Soweto, and with entertainment comes a call to eat.  When that call was made to the Silver Falcon Spur Steak Ranch at Soweto’s Maponya Mall no effort was spared in making us feel comfortable.  Over the two days Lucky and his staff were always ready with a smile to take orders, to answer to any queries we had and to even bring food to us outside their premises ensuring the players were well-nourished!

Thanks to the Silver Falcon Spur Steak Ranch at Maponya Mall for showing us they are definitely people with a taste for life!
